Home Care That Works Both Ways

There’s a special kind of trust in inviting someone into your home. And there's a special kind of pride in being trusted to help someone live life their way.
That’s why we focus on person-centred care – not just for clients, but for Carers too.

For clients, it means care that fits around your life – not the other way round.

For Carers, it means being treated like the professionals you are, with the support that a lone worker needs. Community carers move from one home to another, supporting people in their most personal spaces, building strong relationships with clients — yet rarely having time to connect with colleagues. Unlike carers in residential or hospital settings there’s no shared break room, no quick chat between clients, and no immediate opportunity to debrief if someone's been a little difficult.

 

At CI Home Care we work hard to compensate for this and encourage carers to pop in - to voice a concern about a client seek reassurance or guidance or just to offload.  As busy as they are, our managers know to prioritise these impromptu visits to ensure that Carers do feel supported and part of something bigger.  We don't just say we have an open-door policy; we genuinely do as our carers will attest.  We also make it easy for Carers to drop in with a central, but out of Town location and plenty of parking.

Live-In Care, Lifelong Impact

Live-in Carers not only work alone but are usually from the UK or France therefore may not have many friends or any family on island.  Yet for many of our clients, their care is life-changing.

Clients enjoy consistent, one-to-one support in the comfort of their own home, while families get the peace of mind that their loved one is safe, supported, and surrounded by the familiar.

But we also understand that Live-in Carers need support too. Living in someone’s home for up to three weeks at a time is rewarding – but can be isolating without the right backing.  That’s why we’ve created a structure where Live-in Carers feel welcome, supported and part of the team, even if they don’t live on-island permanently.

Somewhere to Land: The Value of Space and Support

Between 2–4pm, most Live-in Carers are off duty.  Many choose to meet up for a coffee and some use the chance to pop into the office, where they know they’ll always find:

  • Easy, central location with free parking
  • A break-out/training room to grab a cuppa and maybe chat to another Carer who happens to have popped in 
  • A sense of community that makes all the difference as there are often other Live-in carers there too!
